General Info & Use

Total Allocations Chart: The chart condenses all investment allocation data across all accounts for the current calendar year (January through December), combining expected contributions year-to-date, documented and/or synced contributions, and expected future contributions.

  • Irrespective of when the "Financial Framework" is created in the calendar year, the Allocations chart is automatically structured to span the full calendar year. For example, if you create a framework on July 1st, where you planned to contribute $1000 into a brokerage every month, the chart will span January through December with incomplete months signalled for January through June.
  • The expected future contributions are estimated for future months by taking the total yearly investment allocations (located just above the summary chart) and dividing by 12; each bar increases subsequently by this value, even if extra contributions are made on top of their expected monthly investment allocations. Users may tap the graph on a future date to see an estimated total contribution value.
  • A minus sign (-) indicates your total contributions were less than planned (for that month), while a plus sign (+) indicates your total contributions were more than planned for (for that month). No sign indicates exact completion of planned total contributions for that month.
  • To navigate the chart, simply press on a current, future, or past month. A pink dot will appear on the selected month. On the legend card below the chart, you will find actual and planned total contributions for that month and YTD up until that month. You may select the same bar to default back to the current month on the chart.

Account Cards: At the bottom of the page holds all investment accounts created during the workflow, denoted as a unique card per account. On each card is the contribution for the current month, followed by the total contributions YTD. When different months are selected on the above summary allocations chart, the monthly and YTD contributions are also updated on this card interface. De-select the bar chart or tap the current month to refresh back to the current month on these cards.

  • The inner pie chart in pink denotes monthly contributions (for the currently selected month), and the outer pie chart in blue indicates the YTD contributions (up to the currently selected month).

Adding Manual Contributions: To add a manual contribution to one of the accounts listed inside the “Yearly Investing Plan” page, simply tap the “+” icon on that account subtype card. On the new screen, users can make a manual contribution by tapping either “Add contribution” (one time contribution), or “Recurring investment” (manual recurring investment that is automatically updated by Vassant). A single contribution (“Add contribution”) is updated automatically when saved. A recurring contribution (“Recurring investment”) has more flexibility for automation: a unique frequency and a start date can be added. The frequency denotes what intervals Vassant will make a recurring investment allocation update on your behalf.

  • At any time, users may backfill old contributions (back to January 1st of the current calendar year) to update deposits made and not recorded yet on Vassant. A recurring contribution backdated to an earlier date will automatically make a set of contributions for you up to the current day.

Updating Manual Contributions: A “Recurring investment” can be updated at any time by adding new details in the "update recurring investment" widget; this will override your previous recurring contributions. The recurring plan can be removed by tapping "Remove" at any time. Also, all manual contributions may be removed by pressing “Remove All Contributions” on any individual account subtype screen. Individual contributions may also be removed within the “Activity History” bubble.

Viewing the “Financial Framework Overview”: At any time, the overview may be accessed by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and tapping the “View Allocation Details” button. The following page is the same setup as the “Financial Framework Overview” page. Edits to allocations may be made here, rather than retaking the entire workflow.

Viewing the Vassant Investor Center: At any time, the Investor Center may be accessed by scrolling to the bottom of the screen and tapping the “Vassant Investor Center” button.

Notes on the “Investable Cash Flow” value and its impact on the “Financial Framework”: Excess “Investable Cash Flow” not allocated in the “Financial Framework” will be visible on the "Yearly Investable Cash Flow" card at the top of the "Model" tab as a warning message. You may re-allocate extra “Investable Cash Flow” on the “View Allocation Details” overview at any time. Changes to “Investable Cash Flow” that result in an over-allocation will be visible on the dashboard as a warning message. To re-allocate extra “Investable Cash Flow,” simply tap the “View Allocation Details” button at the bottom of the dashboard screen and edit allocations. To use a different “Investable Cash Flow” value, users must edit their “Budget” first to create more allocatable dollars.
