What Gives Us the Edge?
Let's be honest: Fintech is a tough game, and there are roughly 2,600 fintech companies that launch in the U.S. every year. McKinsey points out that the keys to success for these startups include "trusted distribution" and "mature compliance capabilities." Their definition of a trusted product included reliable service and pricing. Vassant strives to achieve both of these keys. We do that through our transparent pricing and with a simple product that aims to improve personal finance workflows through streamlined capital allocation modeling to investment planning and organization.
As we continued to build out our platform and integrated components like Plaid to connect users' portfolio data, we built a foundation of compliance around Vassant. This included password security, revamped terms and conditions, enhanced privacy protocols, cybersecurity response scenarios, malware attacks, and more. Within our terms and conditions, we include disclosure language to comply with federal regulations regarding investment or financial planning advice. Vassant is not a financial advisor.
All of these guardrails are designed to bolster our platform's compliance, but they demonstrate our commitment to ensuring user experience is backed by a trusted, transparent platform where you know what you are getting.
And while we are offering stock-related information, the purpose of the Vassant platform is to give users the autonomy and space to make decisions for themselves. This is what democratizing finance actually looks like. The same cannot always be said by simple blogs or your average YouTuber who talks about finance and short term trading the latest hype stock. We're proud that our platform doesn't include ads, stock charts, or news like the vast majority of platforms or channels.
We're taking our time to do things right so that we can grow and provide more offerings and capabilities while being backed by compliance measures and due diligence. Yes, others are doing this too in our space, but oftentimes the lines of recommendations and information are blurred across your average subreddit, viral X post, Substack article, or YouTube video with an attention-seeking thumbnail.
But it's not just an informational game.
We're still building a product that is addressing root problems in personal finance and wealth management: investing disorganization mixed with emotion, poor capital allocation modeling, and unstructured, inaccessible learning. While others pursue short term glory, we want to build an app that can withstand ebbs and flows. This happens progressively, but our mission is limitless.
The edge is simplicity combined with the patience to read the environment and provide tools that deliver confidence and peace of mind.
